Apptio Among Best Places to Work in N.C. & Washington

  • Missy Waggoner, VP of People
  • September 17, 2020

I’m proud to announce that our Bellevue, Wash., and Morrisville, N.C. locations have been recognized as “Best Places to Work.”

The Best Places to Work award is a highly coveted recognition because it’s based on results from an anonymous survey of the employees in each state. The Puget Sound Business Journal and Triangle Business Journal partner with Quantum Workplace to survey thousands of employees in each state. Then Quantum scores the survey results and selects the finalists.

Being selected for these two awards is validation that we are providing the environment that our employees value – at Apptio this means creating an environment where our employees feel they can bring their authentic selves to work every day, and provides opportunities for career development, incredible benefits and an inclusive culture.

Our people are our most important asset – and it is our people who have helped Apptio grow to be the company that we are today and that make Apptio one of the best places to work in both states.

Being among Washington’s best

The Puget Sound Business Journal’s annual countdown of Washington’s top workplaces recognizes companies whose employees have great things to say. And fellow Apptians, we had a lot to say – this year, we had the highest employee participation in our company’s history!

The final rankings were revealed at the Washington's Best Workplaces virtual event August 27 and published in the August 28 print edition of the Puget Sound Business Journal. We were listed alongside companies such as Qumulo, Outreach, Tableau, and more as one of Washington’s Best Places to Work.

Companies are categorized into one of four lists based on employee count: more than 250 workers, 100 to 249 workers, 50 to 99 workers and 10 to 49 workers. Apptio was included on the list of more than 250 workers for our HQ office in Bellevue.

Part of Carolina’s Finest

On September 11, the Triangle Business Journal announced that Apptio was among its 2020 Best Places to Work awardees.

Remember when I said above that we had the highest ever participation rate from our Bellevue office? Well, that’s a pretty important thing because, once nominated, a company has to meet a threshold in employee participation – a percentage that varies based on the size of the company – to be eligible to be considered. We were considered and included in the Large Company category for our North Carolina location. This category is for companies that employ 100 to 249 workers.

Being included on both lists (PSBJ and TBJ) is a testament to the culture we have built and the amazing people at Apptio. I am excited for what our future holds as we continue to connect, grow, and reward our employees through mentor programs, employee resource groups, training, development, and more.

Congratulations Apptians!
