Apptio to Hold 9th “CIO Technology Business Management Council”

Seven Fortune 500 Companies Including Bank of America, Cisco, and Boeing to Share Best Practices and Key Learnings from their TBM Journey

Seattle, Wash. – June 6, 2011 – Apptio, the leading provider of on-demand Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions, will convene its ninth CIO TBM Advisory Council event on Friday June 10th from 9AM which will feature seven case study presentations from some of the world’s most innovative IT organizations, including the CIOs of Boeing, Cisco, Facebook, and First American. The three-hour virtual event will be broadcast live from 10 Cisco TelePresence locations on two continents in which 150 CIOs and IT leaders from some of the world’s most recognized global enterprises will participate in an interactive discussion around implementing TBM to achieve greater financial transparency into their IT spend.

The objective of the CIO TBM Advisory Council is to foster a dialogue between some of today’s most progressive IT leaders in order to learn and share best practices with one another about the transformative role that Technology Business Management is having on their IT organization. To ensure this conversation continues beyond these bi-annual events, Apptio has launched a new members-only community site for qualified CIOs. This exclusive community site will feature archived case study presentations, an interactive forum for members to solicit guidance from other members who have already started their own TBM initiative, and will also serve as the new home of the refreshed “Lean IT” blog. IT leaders who are interested in joining the community are invited to request membership here.

Presentations at the 9th Council will include case studies on a number of themes relating to financial transparency, services transformation, and end-user accountability, including:

  • Rebecca Jacoby, CIO, Cisco: “Perspectives from a Services Transformation”
  • Tim Campos, CIO, Facebook: “Changing Employee Behavior through Radical Transparency”
  • Kim Hammonds, CIO, The Boeing Company: “Creating a Culture of Accountability via Cost Transparency”
  • Vincent Totoro, CFO IT, JPMorgan Chase: “Build or Buy? Lessons Learned From Building a Technology Business Management Solution”
  • Nick Taylor, SVP Infrastructure & Strategy, Level 3 Communications: “Funding Cloud-Based Delivery via Continual Infrastructure Optimization”
  • Larry Godec, CIO, First American: “Realizing Both Long-Term ROI and Quick Payback from Transparency”
  • Debbie Guild, CTO, Bank of America: “Driving Financial Transparency During a Time of Turbulence”

“This Council has evolved significantly since it was first convened to become a true community of CIOs who are committed to transforming their organizations through the discipline of Technology Business Management,” said Sunny Gupta, founder and CEO of Apptio. “These CIOs represent some of today’s most forward thinking innovators who recognize that the new realities of IT demand an entirely new approach. We look forward to hosting this community and driving this conversation forward.”
