Apptio Adds Leadership Talent Experienced in SaaS to Continue Growth Trajectory

Bellevue, Wash. – September 22, 2014 – Apptio, the leading provider of cloud-based Technology Business Management (TBM) software, today announced the hiring of Tom Casey, VP of Platform and Infrastructure, and John Morrow, SVP, General Counsel and Secretary. These additions support the projected growth, technology innovation, and global expansion of the company in the years to come.

Tom Casey, VP of Platform and Infrastructure

Casey, in the role of VP, Platform and Infrastructure, is responsible for platform development and operating Apptio’s Subscription Services. His experience is anchored by over 16 years at Microsoft focused on data and analytics, industry level expertise in the database and business intelligence space and has experience building and operating cloud services at scale.

At Microsoft, Casey led the Commerce Platform team, which delivered the commerce infrastructure and platform for all of Microsoft’s online businesses. Prior to that, he held multiple leadership roles in Microsoft’s data and application platform leading the development and operations of SQL Azure and leading the development and strategy for Microsoft Business Intelligence. Casey holds a BSBA in Management Information Systems from University of Arizona.

John Morrow, SVP, General Counsel and Secretary

Morrow as Apptio’s SVP, General Counsel and Secretary, is responsible for legal, privacy, corporate governance and compliance matters. He has extensive experience working with technology companies, especially in growing and scaling enterprise SaaS businesses. Morrow brings significant transactional leadership experience including more than 50 domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, 20 initial public offerings and follow-on public security offerings, and numerous equity and debt financings, as well as advising on corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, data privacy, IT security and general business matters. He has deep expertise working with the Boards of Directors and senior management teams of both private and public companies.

Prior to joining the Apptio team, Morrow was SVP, Corporate Development and Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary at Vertafore, a leader in modern insurance technology acquired for $1.4 billion in 2010. During his tenure at Vertafore, he held a variety of roles and was most recently responsible for legal matters, corporate development, data privacy, IT security and compliance. Morrow was previously a shareholder with Heller Ehrman LLP, a major international law firm, specializing in representing technology companies. He holds a BA in political science from DePauw University and a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

Apptio’s current General Counsel, Todd Smith, will stay on as Deputy General Counsel.
